About SICWS

In a world filled with opportunities, we are an organization dedicated to empowering women who have recently migrated to Canada. With our unique lived experiences, our hearts full of compassion and our minds focused on empowering you to be your best, our community is built on a foundation of love. Together we stand strong, as we support one another on the journey toward independence, financial freedom, personal growth and total wellness.

We are dedicated to supporting immigrant women to settle in and thrive in their new communities across Canada. Our mission is to create a sisterhood built on Love, as our one unique language… Not colour; a support group that empowers women to be vulnerable without fear, be confident, feel supported, and be bold to pursue their dreams in Canada.

At Sisters in Canada, we believe that every woman deserves the opportunity to build a successful and fulfilling life. We understand that the challenges of moving to a new country can be overwhelming, which is why we offer a safe and welcoming space for all to connect and support each other.

Our programs help to alleviate the burden of emotional trauma that a lot of immigrant women experience due to lack of support; we pay extra attention to both the psychological, sociological, and holistic mental awareness of our sisters’ well-being.

“My experience at Safe Haven 2023 was phenomenal and it was a breath of fresh air for me. Coincidentally it happened at a point where I was feeling less motivated due to the delay of my work permit renewal and not being able to work for months. Immediately I saw the advert, I told myself I need to be at this gathering of women sharing their stories and experiences with each other, especially new immigrants.

I volunteered happily, and travelled from Kamloops to Surrey without a flinch because I felt and I know I needed the break. My hubby encouraged me to go for this program as well and I was glad I encouraged my friend in Surrey to join me. She was happy she came and she had some good gems jotted down.

I had the pleasure of meeting the convener, she is such a wonderful person, and some new friends. We still keep in touch till date. I love what Sisters in Canada stands for and I will support them in any way possible to make it better.”
