Culinary Healing with Seniors uses food as a way to encourage social connection, reduce isolation, promote wellness, and celebrate the lived experiences of seniors. Through cultural cooking, storytelling, and shared tasting, the program creates a meaningful opportunity for seniors and community members to connect in a welcoming environment.
Learn more about Culinary Healing"On Saturday, November 30, 2024, I had the privilege of speaking at Safe Haven 2.0 alongside Olga Stachova, Azra Bijl Hussain, Bukkie Adewuyi, and Elvis. We shared insights on building sustainable relationships in Canada during an engaging panel discussion. It was a meaningful experience connecting with my fellow panelists and over 200 attendees, including allies, all with unique stories. Thank you to Sisters In Canada Wellness for creating such a supportive space for immigrant women to find community, strength, and sisterhood."
"I really looked forward to the Safe Haven event because I hoped I'd come home with new ideas on how to navigate my path in Canada. It was really inspiring, hearing stories of how immigrant women have been able to thrive in a new country, and that helped to keep the fire in me burning; if others can do it, I can and I will. I also connected with other sisters and we're still in touch. It was an amazing gathering."
